François de Sarre, born 1947 in Saarbrücken, works as a zoologist specialised on Fish and the evolution of vertebrates. He has published many articles about the Mediterranean Ichthyofauna. Since 1985 he works on a subject still quite unknown to the public: the theory of the initial bipedalism of vertebrates. In 1988 he founds in Nice (France) the Centre for Studies and Research of Initial Bipedalism (Centre d'Etudes et de Recherches sur la Bipédie Initiale, CERBI) and publishes the scientifique magazine Bipedia. In the 90ies he contacts with the group of German researchers who question the conventional chronology (Horst Friedrich, Heribert Illig, Uwe Topper) . In 1995 he publishes an article about the ways animals - and also Man - have token to cross the Strait of Gibraltar. In 1999 he publishes a book about the catastrophs that have shaped the History of the Mediterranean Sea ("When the Mediterranean was dry"). He suggests, based on zoological and geological facts, that the Strait of Gibraltar has been formed quite recently. A short English version of this work has been published in 2000 by the magazine Migration & Diffusion (Vienna). |
